Mission Music was founded in the summer of 2018, when Blake noticed a lack of support within the music scene. His initial intention was to create a support fund for artists that weren’t noticed and struggling to get by. Through 2019 & 2020 Mission Music became much more than that. Since then we have created a more accurate mission — we aim to help the whole person.

Blake Matthews (he/him)
CEO/Founder
Blake founded Mission Music in 2018 by himself, and since, been the face of our non-profit. Blake is often the person you will find at Southern California shows with Mission Music-making sure everything runs smoothly, along with working behind the scenes to run and maintain Mission Music. Blake also both runs our emotional support hotline and our social media, which features regular mental health info slides, affirmations, and more. Lily Znamenacek (she/her)
Social Media Manager
Lily joined Mission Music in 2021 from a mutual contact and is the face of our social media management. Lily regularly creates our social media posts and works with Blake and Zach to ensure the public is kept up with Mission Music announcements. Lily also works behind the scenes with Blake, Zach, and artists to coordinate takeovers and virtual live sets on our social media. Zach Sterner (he/they)
Senior Events Coordinator
Zach joined Mission Music in 2020 after being a massive help to Blake in relation to some events. Zach is often the face of Mission Music at New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania events, ensuring that every band is paid their dues and that everything is running smoothly. Zach also works with Lily to allow every Mission Music event to be promoted to its fullest. They are also the main source of communication between artists and Mission Music, allowing for transparency and growth in all sides. Zach is best reached at Events@MissionMusicFoundation.com
